ST ANDREW'S COMMUNITY WALK: HOW DID IT GO?

27 Jul 2021

The Andrew’s Club Community Walk took place on Saturday 17 July. The day was a fantastic opportunity to reunite the community after a difficult 18 months, with around 65 people joining in. Families, friends (and dogs!) embarked on a 10k walk, or run, starting and finishing at the Club, where Deputy Manager Adrian was firing up the BBQ.

Following the devastating diagnosis of osteosarcoma, a very rare cancer affecting around 30 children each year in the UK, for one of our wonderful, long-standing members, Tyler - the Club chose to dedicate the day to Tyler and his family. All fundraising efforts were redirected to Tyler’s gofundme page, which will offset the financial impact of Tyler’s treatment and the add-ons that come with it.

The local community are the lungs of St Andrew’s Club and supporting a member of both the Club and community is of utmost importance to the team. Therefore, we were thrilled to have raised an amazing £1,021 on the day for Tyler! Exact figures of online donations are unknown to the Club, we have, however, recognised that friends and supporters of the Club have donated directly to Tyler’s page.

A huge thank you to all those who showed their support through donating or joining us on the day and taking part in the walk and raffle.
